Sixth International Conference on Africa (Cotonou - May 2025)

How can we think about African sovereignty in a fractured and uncertain world?

The Sixth International Conference of the Africa Initiative Group, held in Cotonou from May 8 to 11, 2025, emphasized that African sovereignty cannot be limited to formal political independence but must encompass economic, security, cultural, and social dimensions. The discussions highlighted the excesses of certain political practices, structural weaknesses, and the need for exemplary governance, as well as the active involvement of young people.
